Job description

Role: Primary SEN Teaching Assistants

Location: Lydiate & Maghull

Salary: £475-£500 per week

Working Days: Full-time

Start Date: September 2026

Connex Education is looking for calm, nurturing and adaptable teaching assistants who have experience supporting children with special educational needs. Experience supporting children in primary schools is essential for this role.

About the Schools:

Connex Education have a long-standing working partnership with primary schools in Lydiate & Maghull. The primary schools are in a great location for staff travelling from anywhere in Sefton and Liverpool.

About the roles:

As a primary teaching assistant, you will have the opportunity to work in 1:1 SEN roles or provide SEND group support. The roles will require interventions inside and outside the classroom for children with additional needs. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs in the schools.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable.
  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a primary classroom is essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to adapt to different learning needs and experience providing group interventions is desirable.
  • It is essential that you have a DBS on the update service, or willing to obtain a new one through Connex.
