Operations Capability Lead

City: Nottingham

We are Reckitt

Home to the world's best loved and trusted hygiene, health, and nutrition brands. Our purpose defines why we exist: to protect, heal and nurture in the relentless pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world. We are a global team united by this purpose. Join us in our fight to make access to the highest quality hygiene, wellness, and nourishment a right and not a privilege.

Human Resources

Our supply chain is the backbone of our business. It's how we get our trusted products to people all over the world, safely and efficiently. And it's our talented and passionate teams that make this happen. If you're looking for a career in supply chain, there's no better place to be than Reckitt. We offer a variety of exciting opportunities in all areas of the supply chain, from planning and procurement to manufacturing and logistics.

You could join our Global Supply Planning team to develop and implement our global supply strategy, or work with our Procurement Centre of Excellence team to negotiate and manage our supplier relationships. Our Manufacturing Excellence team help us improve the efficiency, quality and safety of our manufacturing operations, and our Logistics Excellence team develop new and innovative ways to distribute our products to customers.

About the role

As a Operations Capability Lead you will play a key role in ensuring our employees have the skills, knowledge, and confidence required to carry out their work in alignment with Standard Operating Procedures and regulatory requirements. You will support the development of highly capable teams across the factory by delivering engaging training programmes, identifying skill gaps, and driving performance through high-quality learning interventions.

This role sits at the heart of our commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with operational leaders, technical teams, and HR to maintain training standards, improve onboarding, and ensure training delivery aligns with business needs within a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Your responsibilities

Training Delivery & Programme Management

  • Delivering the Company Induction Programme and tailoring materials to suit different audiences while maintaining Group standards.
  • Delivering accredited training where applicable (e.g., First Aid at Work, Fire Marshall Training, Forklift Truck Training).
  • Delivering classroom training and toolbox talks/single-point lessons on Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Production topics.
  • Ensuring all mandatory and line‑related training material meets required quality standards.
  • Verifying previously delivered training to ensure employees follow Standard Operating Procedures correctly.

Performance & Capability Development

  • Identifying skills gaps and supporting line managers in creating and maintaining employees’ training plans and portfolios.
  • Guiding line managers through probationary training processes, ensuring new hires achieve probation milestones.
  • Coaching and mentoring employees to help them reach competence across relevant operational areas.
  • Conducting training needs analysis and supporting continuous improvement of training programmes.

Compliance & Documentation

  • Supporting compliance by maintaining training plans, records, skills matrices, and training gap analyses.
  • Ensuring global and corporate mandatory training is completed across manufacturing teams.
  • Preparing training documentation and reporting for audits and regulatory inspections.

Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Acting as a point of contact for internal and external audits related to training.
  • Partnering with the Technical and Compliance Training Manager to develop and evaluate comprehensive training plans.
  • Working with EHS teams to deliver monthly Safety Briefs.
  • Reviewing Standard Operating Procedures and identifying required updates.
  • Supporting operational leaders to embed a strong safety and quality culture.

The experience we're looking for

Professional Skills & Competencies

  • Experience working within a regulated or FMCG environment.
  • Strong subject‑matter knowledge within manufacturing operations.
  • Proven experience delivering training programmes and facilitating group learning.
  • Ability to engage and influence employees at all levels with a dynamic and engaging delivery style.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring capability.
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to manage deadlines and deliver against targets.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Qualifications (Preferred but Not Essential)

  • PTLLS, CTP or Train the Trainer qualification (training can be provided).
  • IOSH Managing Safely.

Personal Attributes

  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to influence and drive improvements across cross‑functional teams.
  • A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to challenge the status quo constructively.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • Commitment to supporting others’ development through coaching and training.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a drive for achieving high‑quality results.

What we offer

With inclusion at the heart of everything we do, working alongside our four global Employee Resource Groups, we support our people at every step of their career journey, helping them to succeed in their own individual way. We recognise that in real life, great people don't always 'tick all the boxes'. That's why we hire for potential as well as experience.
