Job description

Role: Bank/Casual Support Worker

Hours: Zero hour contract

Location: Mirfield (WF14 0DQ)

Salary: £12.81/hr (day shifts) and £13.61/hr (night shifts)

Are you compassionate, reliable, and motivated by making a real difference every day? Are you looking for a flexible role to fit around a part-time job, childcare, or your studies? Are you able to commit to regular shifts, including occasional weekends? If so, we want to hear from you! Bank roles at Hollybank allow additional flexibility that you may not get from a permanent contracted role. You will be required to attend a 2 week Trust induction, the dates/times of which are fixed. Please only apply if you are able to attend the induction.

Whilst the role is offered on a 0hr contract basis, there would regularly be 15-40hrs per week on offer depending on your availability.

About the Role

As a Bank Support Worker, you'll provide daytoday holistic support to adults, following the Trust's intrinsic principles and behaviours. Your work will help individuals maintain independence, feel included in their communities, and enjoy the best possible quality of life. You'll work closely with experienced Support Workers, Senior Support Workers, Deputies, and Registered Managers as part of a dedicated and valuesdriven team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide highquality, personcentred support tailored to individual needs
  • Support adults with daily living activities while promoting independence and choice in all areas
  • Encourage participation in community activities and meaningful experiences
  • Maintain dignity, respect, and positive relationships at all times
  • Work in line with Hollybank Trust's principles, behaviours, and care standards
  • Contribute to a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and other professionals

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine commitment to supporting adults with complex disabilities
  • A caring, patient, and respectful approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from senior staff
  • Willingness to learn and undertake relevant training
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude

Previous experience in a care or support setting is not essential, but is preferred. Full training will be provided.

Our Values

At Hollybank Trust, our work is guided by strong principles and behaviours. We are committed to:

  • Putting people at the heart of everything we do
  • Promoting independence, dignity, and choice
  • Delivering highquality support that improves quality of life
  • Creating inclusive, supportive community experiences

Why Join Hollybank Trust?

  • A meaningful role where your work truly matters
  • Supportive leadership and teamwork
  • Opportunities for learning, development, and progression
  • A valuesled organisation focused on people, not just processes
  • A range of great benefits including access to mental health support, enhanced family leave pay, and a discounts and rewards portals for shopping

If you're looking for a role where you can make a positive impact every single day, we'd love to hear from you.

Hollybank Trust is committed to Safeguarding vulnerable people, and our Safer Recruitment process requires all employees to have an Enhanced DBS check and reference checks in line with our Recruitment policy. Unfortunately we are not able to offer sponsorship to work in the UK, and we do ask that you have 6 months of UK based work experience (in any sector) before applying (please note, this does not apply to school/college leavers)

If the candidate does not have a DBS, Hollybank will pay for the DBS check. If the candidate leaves voluntarily in their first 12 months, £58.90 will be deducted from their final salary payment.

We want people from underrepresented groups such as Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME), Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Trans (LGBTQIA+) communities to succeed at Hollybank Trust and our policies and procedures ensure that this can happen.

Hollybank Trust is a Disability Confident Employer. Please let us know on your application about any adjustments that you require for your interview or give us a call to discuss your application in more detail.
