The Honeysuckle is a friendly, well‑loved pub right at the heart of Newport, perfectly placed near Haberdashers’ Adams Grammar School and Harper Adams University. Inside, there’s a great balance between a lively pool room that’s popular with student clubs and a more relaxed, welcoming bar for local regulars. Outside, the refreshed beer garden – complete with a covered area, TVs, lighting and heaters – makes this a space that works just as well all year round.
Currently trading around £4,000 per week and operating as a 100% wet‑led business, The Honeysuckle attracts a broad mix of guests, from the local agricultural community and university students through to affluent retirees. Student trade drives strong midweek performance, but there’s real opportunity to grow weekend sales and broaden the pub’s appeal by putting on the right events and creating stronger links with the wider community.
We’re looking for a true host with personality and presence – someone who loves being at the centre of things and can create a genuine sense of belonging. You’ll be a natural community champion, confident tailoring the offer and atmosphere to very different audiences across the week, and comfortable flexing your style to suit the time of day, the day of the week and who’s through the door.
