Business Operations Systems Director The Business Operations Systems Director is a senior leader responsible for driving ERP strategy and execution across the enterprise, with a strong focus on SAP ECC 6.0 in an Engineer‑to‑Order (ETO) heavy manufacturing environment. The role ensures ERP platforms, manufacturing and engineering systems deliver operational excellence, process standardization and business value. Influence technology investments and digital transformation initiatives to support ETO manufacturing. Lead integration or separation activities for M&A as needed. Relationship Management Oversee day‑to‑day operational aspects of internal customer relationships with the COO, Chief Legal Counsel and CFO. Establish and maintain effective communication between IT and each business function. Ensure the business is aware of Enterprise IT initiatives aligned with the global strategy. ERP Systems Management Oversee implementation, upgrades, and optimization of SAP ECC 6.0 across all applicable modules. Manage a team of 10 SAP professionals and legacy ERP systems. Hands‑on SAP troubleshooting, configuration, functional and data management when required. Collaborate with plant leadership to support production efficiency, quality and compliance. Lead 3 IT professionals maintaining Autodesk and SolidWorks environments. Demand & Project Management Advise on how IT can support business developments or changes. Qualify customer demand focusing on strategic needs and business value. Agree priorities with IT leadership. Direct large‑scale ERP and manufacturing system projects from initiation through delivery. Apply structured project‑management methodologies (PMI, Agile) to ensure on‑time, on‑budget execution. Manage risk, scope and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor and support project execution once approved. Service Delivery (SD) Management Maintain a detailed understanding of IT service offerings, delivery processes and technical capabilities. Coordinate, integrate and ensure services meet quality, scope and SLA requirements. Contract Management Negotiate and renew global software maintenance and support contracts. Align local contracts with global standards. Provide analysis and reports. Governance & Compliance Establish governance frameworks for ERP and manufacturing systems, including change management and risk mitigation. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal IT policies. Cost Management Facilitate preparation of the annual budget planning. Expertise in managing complex ERP projects. Deep SAP ECC 6.0 experience across all relevant modules. Knowledge of trade and export compliance and ERP ancillary systems. Understanding of engineering processes (CAD, PLM, PDM). Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills. Deep understanding of business processes for manufacturing and service management. Good knowledge of ITIL, project management, cybersecurity best practices. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering or Business Administration (Master’s preferred). Extensive hands‑on experience with SAP ECC 6.0 implementations and optimizations in ETO manufacturing. Track record of managing multi‑site ERP deployments and manufacturing system integrations. PMP or equivalent project‑management certification. Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration planning. Familiarity with engineering systems such as Autodesk, SolidWorks or ANSYS. Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see (specific close vision abilities required to perform computer work). Daily use of hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone. Occasional travel by air or road; Ability to work with moderate noise in a business office environment. Ability to work in an open planned office or individual office. Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods. Ability to sit in a car or on a plane for extended periods.
