Job description

Catering, Cleaning & Recycling Coordinator

Trivandi Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

Department: Venue Management

Location: Glasgow

Start Date: January 2026

Reporting to the Catering, Cleaning & Recycling (CCR) Manager, the Coordinator will provide operational and administrative support for the planning and delivery of catering, cleaning, waste management, and recycling services across Games venues.

Working arrangements

The role will commence in the Organising Company’s Glasgow city centre office, with visits required to competition venues to fully deliver the responsibilities of the role. The location for the role will transition to be based at a competition venue as we approach the Games. The role will be contracted for 40 hours per week, with requirements to be in the office aligned to the Organising Company's planned working pattern. All travel to your place of work will be at your own cost. During the Games operational period, shift patterns are likely to be required which could include weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CCR team in planning and delivering venue catering, cleaning, and recycling operations.
  • Assist in preparing venue service plans, schedules, and documentation for catering and cleaning operations.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to confirm delivery timings, staffing levels, access passes and equipment requirements.
  • Support venue catering logistics, including equipment setup, food distribution, waste removal, and compliance reporting.
  • Help monitor daily operations during Games‑time, identifying and escalating service or compliance issues promptly.
  • Support Games‑time venue reporting, assist in overseeing workforce feeding operations, and conduct catering, cleaning, and recycling audits to ensure compliance and service consistency.
  • Collect and track information on waste segregation, recycling performance, and sustainability metrics.
  • Assist in implementing food safety, hygiene, and environmental standards as directed by the CCR Manager.
  • Represent the CCR team in pre‑Games and Games‑time meetings.
  • Communicate operational updates to venue teams, ensuring catering and cleaning activities align with competition schedules.
  • Contribute to Games‑time service delivery by supporting the CCR team on‑site, ensuring supplier coordination and service quality.
  • Support post‑Games decommissioning and capture of operational learnings.

Experience

  • Experience coordinating catering, waste, or cleaning operations in large‑scale events, venues, or hospitality environments.
  • Understanding of catering and cleaning logistics, including service delivery, stock control, or food safety processes.
  • Experience supporting supplier or contractor relationships in a fast‑paced operational setting.
  • Familiarity with sustainability or waste management practices is desirable.
  • Experience maintaining operational records, reports, or checklists to support service delivery.
  • Comfortable working across multiple venues and shifts during a live event environment.

Competencies

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills with good attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of basic food safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
  • Confident communicator with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and calm under pressure.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a wider operational team.
  • Passion for sustainability and improving service delivery in large‑scale events.

Behaviours

  • Committed to supporting the delivery of high‑quality catering and cleaning services that enhance the athlete, workforce, and spectator experience.
  • Demonstrates care for sustainability by promoting recycling, reducing waste, and supporting responsible food and materials practices.
  • Shows strong attention to detail in maintaining hygiene, food safety, and service standards.
  • Remains calm, adaptable, and solutions‑focused when responding to busy periods or operational challenges.
  • Acts inclusively and with cultural awareness, helping ensure services meet the diverse needs of Games participants and visitors.
  • Takes initiative to suggest improvements or efficiencies in daily operations, contributing positively to team performance and sustainability goals.
