Job description
Principal Clinical Psychologist We are looking for an 8a Principal Clinical Psychologist to join the Exeter and East Devon multidisciplinary learning disability teams to support the wellbeing of vulnerable and marginalised individuals. You will be a senior part of the clinical psychology team across Devon, working with a multi‑disciplinary team including nursing, psychiatry, occupational therapy, physiotherapy and speech & language therapy. Work on complex assessment and formulation of individuals with intellectual disability. Design and deliver complex multi‑component interventions, including individual and group therapies, care planning, training and consultation. Promote clinical effectiveness, develop and review service provision to maximise wellbeing of people with learning disability in Devon. We provide mental health, learning disability and neurodiversity services, including specialist and secure services for the wider south west region and nationally. We recruit based on qualifications, experience and behaviours underpinning our trust’s core values: commitment to quality of care, improving lives of others, giving respect, dignity, and compassion. Qualified Clinical Psychologist (D.Registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC). Experience of teaching, training and/or supervision. Further training in psychological therapies. Further training and experience in interventions with people with learning disabilities. Extended experience of assessing and working with people with learning disabilities and working within learning disability services. Experience of the application of clinical psychology in different cultural contexts. This post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DAB) check as part of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
