The application of the candidate’s expertise in the financial services and financial technology area is a strategic focus, reflecting Glasgow’s strong Financial Services and Tech industry, which is based in the International Financial Services District and boasts some of the leading banking and financial services institutions, such as Barclays, HSBC, JP Morgan, Lloyds Banking Group, and Morgan Stanley. While this sector is a strategic focus, the successful candidate is encouraged to work collaboratively across Faculties and with the University’s strategic clusters. We are seeking an outstanding academic leader who can translate rigorous analytical research into real‑world impact, engage effectively with industry and external partners, secure research and innovation funding, and help position Strathclyde as a global leader in responsible, high‑impact analytical innovation.

Eligibility

These posts are supported by the UKRI Global Talent Fund. In line with the funding requirements, it is only open to international researchers who have not resided in the UK during the 24 months prior to the grant start date and are not currently employed by UK‑based organisations or their overseas campuses. All researchers supported by the Global Talent Fund must relocate to the United Kingdom or the Common Travel Area. The majority of their time dedicated to the funded research must be spent physically based in the UK.
