A welcoming and supportive school in Stockton-on-Tees is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team. This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils in their learning and helping them achieve their full potential within the classroom.
The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to provide classroom support, deliver targeted interventions and work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups. You will play an important role in creating a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive.
Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom.
Working with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
Delivering targeted interventions to support pupil progress.
Promoting positive behaviour and classroom engagement.
Supporting pupils with SEND and additional learning needs where required.
Encouraging pupil confidence, independence and participation.
Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Have previous experience working with children or young people.
Be patient, adaptable and supportive in approach.
Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
Be confident supporting pupils with varying abilities and needs.
Have experience supporting SEND pupils (desirable).
Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or HLTA would be an added advantage.
Be confident supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other additional needs.
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
Have a fully checkable work history.
