Job description
Are you a passionate and dedicated Psychology Teacher looking to inspire the next generation of psychologists? We are seeking an exceptional Psychology Teacher to join a thriving academic community in Hereford, teaching students at KS4 and KS5. If you’re eager to spark curiosity and critical thinking in students, we’d love to hear from you! Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and thought-provoking psychology lessons to students at KS4 and KS5. Develop and implement a curriculum that encourages students to apply psychological concepts to real-world situations. Assess and evaluate student progress through both formative and summative assessments, providing feedback that supports student growth. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independent thought, curiosity, and respect for diverse perspectives. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices, improve teaching strategies, and contribute to the development of the department. Maintain open communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about student progress and achievements. Qualifications and Experience: A degree in Psychology or a related field. A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent). Proven experience teaching psychology at KS4 and KS5 level. In-depth knowledge of psychology theory, research, and practice, with the ability to make these concepts accessible to students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire students and promote engagement in psychological topics. Experience in teaching A-Level Psychology or vocational psychology qualifications is an advantage. Skills and Attributes: A passion for psychology and a desire to inspire students to explore psychological concepts in depth. Creative and innovative in lesson planning and teaching delivery. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines. Collaborative team player, committed to contributing to the department's goals and overall school success.
