Job description
A thriving secondary school in Somerset is looking to appoint an innovative and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher from January 2026. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking STEM department and to inspire students through practical, applied learning. Key Details • Full-time, permanent DT Teacher role starting January 2026 • High-achieving secondary school in Somerset with excellent results in STEM • Join a modern DT department with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment Experience and Qualifications • Qualified DT Teacher with QTS (PGCE or equivalent) • Ability to teach KS3–KS5 desirable • Specialism in Product Design, Resistant Materials, or Engineering preferred • Excellent classroom practitioner who can inspire innovation and problem-solving • Willingness to support enrichment such as design clubs and competitions • Legal right to work in the UK School Information • Ofsted Good with Outstanding features, recognised for STEM excellence • Modern DT facilities including CAD/CAM suites, 3D printers, and project workshops • Emphasis on applied learning and preparing students for further study or careers in design and engineering • Supportive SLT with excellent CPD and opportunities for progression • Positive student culture, with excellent behaviour and high levels of motivation Salary • Paid to scale on MPS / UPS Application • To be considered for this DT Teacher role, please forward an updated CV as soon as possible.
