Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher for a lovely independent school in Newark, Nottinghamshire, starting either after the February half term or in April 2025. This role is full-time only. Interviews will be held as soon as possible. The school is known for its nurturing environment, offering tailored support to students with a variety of additional needs. The school focuses on fostering an inclusive and holistic learning experience, ensuring every child is given the opportunity to succeed. With a strong ethos of care, collaboration, and excellence, this school prides itself on supporting both academic and personal growth. SEN Teacher Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the needs of students with special educational needs. Implement effective strategies to support students in their learning and personal development. Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and setting clear targets. Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that encourages students’ confidence and growth. Work closely with the SENCo and other staff members to support the delivery of personalised learning plans. Maintain strong communication with parents and guardians to update them on progress and address any concerns. Participate in school meetings, professional development, and school activities as required. SEN Teacher Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Previous experience working with students with special educational needs. Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning needs. A team-oriented approach and flexibility to work collaboratively.
