Job description
The Head of this prestigious and forward-thinking independent school in Bedfordshire is looking to appoint a talented and passionate Art Teacher to join a thriving and creatively ambitious Art department from January . Art is central to the school’s ethos, supporting both academic success and the development of confident, expressive, and independent learners. This role offers a rare opportunity to teach Art in an environment where students are engaged, curious, and highly motivated, and where teachers are trusted to deliver ambitious, conceptually rich lessons. The department values creative risk-taking, critical reflection, and technical skill, enabling students to develop a strong artistic voice. You will teach Art across KS3 and KS4, with opportunities to support GCSE Art and contribute to exhibitions, workshops, and enrichment programmes. The school is exceptionally well resourced, with dedicated studio spaces and strong support for creative subjects. What the school is looking for: Bedfordshire January Start Art Teacher – ECT or Experienced Art across KS3 and KS4 A confident and creative Art specialist Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for visual arts education The ability to inspire originality, experimentation, and confidence A commitment to high artistic and academic standards A collaborative and professional approach Strong classroom presence and communication skills The successful Art Teacher will be reflective, innovative, and committed to delivering high-quality Art education while contributing positively to the academic and co-curricular life of the school.
