Job description

Overview

Conolly Ward (Female Acute) and Bevan Ward (Male PICU) are actively seeking to recruit passionate, skilled, and forward-thinking mental health professionals for the role of Clinical Practice Lead - Band 6 within City and Hackney Mental Health Centre. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals committed to delivering excellence in patient care, driving continuous improvement, and championing best nursing practices.

As a Clinical Practice Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. This position calls for a visible and inclusive leadership approach, ensuring collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team while also engaging with other teams across the service. You will be instrumental in supporting key initiatives, including relational security, trauma-informed care, and the reduction of restrictive practices, fostering a therapeutic and recovery-focused environment.

If you are an innovative and motivated professional looking to make a meaningful impact in mental health care, we encourage you to apply and be part of our dedicated team.

Please state "three reasons to shortlist me" in the first paragraph of the supporting statement in order to be considered for shortlisting.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be enthusiastic, forward thinking and have a keen interest in working with patients being nursed on mental health wards. Our expectation is that you will be highly motivated and dynamic and able to demonstrate quality therapeutic interactions with service users.

You will work closely with members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to offer recovery focused individual and group work with patients with a wide range of needs.

Our care and treatment programmes are underpinned by principles of recovery and social inclusion and much of our work is co-produced with patients. You will help to ensure that the people we care for always have a strong voice. If you are committed to providing outstanding patient care with a sound knowledge of best practice, this is the opportunity for you.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible, inclusive clinical leadership within City and Hackney Mental Health Centre and across allied teams.
  • Shape and enhance the quality of care, supporting key initiatives such as relational security, trauma-informed care, and the reduction of restrictive practices.
  • Collaborate with a wide multi-disciplinary team to deliver recovery-focused individual and group work for patients with diverse needs.
  • Promote co-production with patients to ensure they have a strong voice in care planning and delivery.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Enthusiastic, forward-thinking professional with interest in working with patients on mental health wards.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic, and able to demonstrate quality therapeutic interactions with service users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and across services.
  • About ELFT, Values and Diversity

ELFT has long been recognised as a centre of excellence for mental health care, innovation and improvement. Our mission is to make a positive difference to people’s lives by improving quality of life for all we serve. Our values are : We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive. We strive to recruit people who live and breathe these qualities in supporting service users, carers and colleagues across the Trust and partner organisations.

Quality Improvement is a key part of our work to improve services and refine how we do things. We launched our Five Year Strategy in April 2018 to improve population health outcomes, experience of care, staff experience and value, aligning with the NHS Long Term Strategy.

We provide a wide range of community health and mental health inpatient services to various populations across London and surrounding areas. We emphasise integrated care, accessibility, and staff involvement in service development. We particularly welcome applicants with lived experience of health difficulties and diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles.

We are a flexible-working friendly organisation and will discuss options such as job share, part-time or other arrangements to suit staff and patients.
