Job description

At En Route, we elevate the onboard experience for airlines worldwide. Since 2002, we’ve grown into a leading global specialist in passenger solutions, supply chain services, and innovative onboard products - bringing creativity and reliability to some of the world’s best-known airlines.

With teams in the UK, USA, UAE, and Australia, we combine global reach with local insight. We deliver smart, scalable solutions across product development, packaging, sourcing, and end-to-end logistics, supporting a fast-moving industry with confidence and care. As part of dnata’s global family, we have the backing of one of aviation’s most respected brands, giving us the stability and scale to continue innovating while staying focused on exceptional onboard solutions.

What sets us apart is our people - curious, collaborative, and always looking for better ways to deliver for our customers. You’ll be working in a collaborative, open-plan team environment with frequent interaction across planners, operations, and stakeholders. Working here means shaping the future of onboard hospitality, partnering with global airlines, and seeing the impact of your work take flight. As a growing business, we offer the pace, variety and visibility that come with scaling operations. Our success is built on strong relationships, teamwork and proactive communication across multiple stakeholders, making this an exciting environment for individuals who enjoy taking ownership, solving problems and working closely with others to make things happen.

The Role:

This is a Supply Planner position focused on ensuring the right products are available in the right place at the right time across a global travel catering supply chain. This role sits within a period of business transformation, where planning processes, systems, and data flows are actively being improved. While some activities are currently manual, there is a strong focus on increasing automation and system integration, with Supply Planners playing a key role in identifying and driving these improvements.

The Supply Planner owns supply planning activities for an assigned product category, ensuring stock availability while balancing inventory levels, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Executing Supply Planning and S&OP/IBP processes
  • Managing Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP)
  • Creating and maintaining supply plans
  • Raising and managing Purchase Orders and Stock Transfer Orders
  • Monitoring inventory levels and availability targets
  • Managing supplier performance and resolving supply issues
  • Supporting product launches, delistings, and range changes
  • Investigating stock shortages and conducting root cause analysis
  • Working closely with Finance, Retail, Merchandising, Category Management and suppliers
  • Supporting business transformation and system integration activities

A Successful Supply Planner Will:

  • Maintain high product availability levels
  • Minimise stock shortages and excess inventory
  • Deliver accurate supply plans based on demand forecasts
  • Build strong supplier relationships
  • Identify risks early and communicate solutions
  • Improve planning processes and data accuracy
  • Support ongoing system and process improvements

What to Expect in This Role:

This role operates within a fast-paced, operational planning environment where responsiveness and adaptability are critical.

  • Planning operates on daily and weekly cycles, requiring regular reprioritisation as demand and supply conditions change
  • The role involves hands-on system work, including ERP transactions and regular use of Excel to manage, analyse, and reconcile data
  • As part of an evolving business, some processes remain manual, with opportunities for improvement and automation over time
  • You will be part of a large, collaborative and fast-moving team environment, particularly during peak periods

This role will suit someone who is comfortable working at pace, enjoys problem-solving in real time, and is motivated by improving processes in a developing supply chain environment. This pace and variety mean you’ll see a direct and immediate impact of your decisions on product availability and customer experience.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Previous experience within a Supply Planner, Demand Planner, Inventory Planner, Supply Chain Coordinator, or similar planning role.
  • Proven experience working within high-frequency (daily/weekly) planning cycles in a fast-paced, reactive environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong Excel skills with experience working in data-heavy environments, including manual data handling, analysis, and reconciliation alongside ERP/system-based planning.
  • Strong communication skills with experience managing a high volume of interactions with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and make informed decisions under pressure, including during periods of high workload.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP, or supply chain planning systems would be advantageous.

This role is best suited to individuals who thrive in fast-paced, hands-on planning environments and are comfortable working with evolving processes and systems. It may be less suited to those who prefer highly structured, long-cycle planning environments or roles with a primarily strategic focus.

Strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the confidence to communicate effectively with a high volume of stakeholders are essential to succeed.
