Job Title: Accounts Senior
Location: Stoke-on-Trent
Salary: Up to £38,000 (depending on experience)

A well-established and forward-thinking Accountancy Practice in Stoke-on-Trent is looking for an experienced Accounts Senior to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and capable individual to step into a varied role with a supportive and ambitious firm that offers genuine opportunities for development.

As an Accounts Senior, the successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of accountancy services to clients across a variety of sectors. This includes preparing year-end accounts, management accounts, and both company and personal tax returns. There is also the potential for involvement in audit work.

This Accounts Senior role will involve regular client interaction and may include occasional on-site visits, allowing for the development of strong working relationships and providing valuable client support.

Responsibilities:

The role of Accounts Senior will include:
  • Preparing accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships across various industries.
  • Preparing corporate and personal tax returns.
  • Producing accurate and timely management accounts.
  • Potential involvement in audit assignments, depending on workload.
  • Liaising directly with clients, with occasional visits to client premises.
  • Assisting junior colleagues and supporting their development where required.

You:

The ideal Accounts Senior will:
  • Have a minimum of three years’ experience in a practice environment.
  • Be ACA, ACCA, or AAT qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Have proven experience preparing management accounts.
  • Be confident using Xero and Sage software.
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Be confident in dealing with clients and supporting colleagues.
