About The RoleBalfour Beatty are looking for a Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) Advisor to join our Regional Buildings Team on the HS2 - N1/N2 Headhouses project in Birmingham. The HSW Advisor will support the project to drive HSW performance, providing efficient and effective advice to meet and, where possible, exceed operational requirements. Contribute to the implementation, delivery and review of the BU Zero Harm Action Plan and Sustainability Action plan at business and/or project level.Support the delivery of the HSW Key Performance Indicators at project & business level.Support work‑winning teams with quality & innovative HSW responses for bids, proposals and PQQs.In conjunction with operational management complete a local and bespoke risk‑based Service Level Agreement with each project, which is kept under quarterly review.Undertake regular site inspections as per project risk matrix.Produce formal reports using the Project Portal to record planned & unplanned HSW inspections which review project performance against the UK HSW Regulatory Framework & UK Business Management System requirements.Undertake regular checks on Health and Safety Risk Management ensuring that appropriate risks and opportunities have been identified and are being implemented.Strong understanding of the UK Health and Safety Regulatory Framework.Ability to undertake project planning and project management.Broad experience of complex construction and civils projects (or equivalent sector experience).Why work for usDay in, day out, our teams deliver some of the UK’s most ambitious, exciting and meaningful projects; developing, building and maintaining vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.BenefitsSmart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working where roles allow.25 days paid annual leave (pro rata).Family‑friendly policies, including 28 weeks full pay for maternity/adoption leave and four weeks full pay for paternity/partner’s leave.Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes and much more.Diversity and inclusionAt Balfour Beatty we believe that diversity and inclusion are essential components of any successful, happy workplace.
