Job Description

This is a full‑time, hybrid role for a hands‑on Systems and Support Engineer at Nera Capital Limited. The role is located in Manchester with the flexibility for some remote work.

This is a pivotal role in which you will support both our development efforts and internal technical operations across multiple technologies. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, passionate about problem‑solving and interested in working within both front‑end and back‑end development.

You will have the opportunity to develop, customise and optimise business applications using Nera’s suite of systems, while also supporting the wider team with day‑to‑day technical needs, from basic troubleshooting to assisting with the rollout of new system features and managing data‑driven tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Head of Technology to provide regular system reports and updates for the in‑house team.
• Provide first‑line and second‑line support for internal systems, applications and hardware.
• Assist colleagues with a range of support tasks from password resets, SharePoint management, laptop set‑up and software installation to more complex issues involving integrations and new features.
• Develop and customise applications within Nera’s IT system.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented Deluge code.
• Assist in front‑end development using Vue.js, Bootstrap, and related technologies.
• Perform data imports and exports using Excel and other tools, ensuring data accuracy and consistency across internal systems.
• Support data analytics and reporting activities, including preparing datasets and generating insights for business use.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in Nera’s in‑house system and other relevant technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience with front‑end development frameworks such as Vue.js and Bootstrap.
• Basic knowledge of Python for automation and back‑end tasks.
• Understanding of REST APIs and integrations.
• Experience with database management and SQL.
• Strong Excel skills, including data manipulation, imports/exports, and use of formulas or pivot tables.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Prior experience in a technical support or development role, preferably within a hybrid IT/development environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, a related field or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of partner's systems such as Proclaim and Zoho CRM, Zoho Creator, or similar platforms.
• Experience with business intelligence (BI) tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Zoho Analytics.
• Exposure to cloud platforms and third‑party API integrations.
• Experience working with version control systems such as GitHub, demonstrating best practices in code collaboration and management.
