Electrical Engineering Graduate Scheme at KBR

KBR are a global science, technology and engineering company. Our Integrated Solutions international (ISI) team is looking to recruit graduate Electrical Engineers to join their elite engineering team. KBR ISI are world leaders in the energy industry and now is an exciting time to join the expanding team. We engineer some of the biggest, most complex energy industry projects around the world and our team are the best and brightest.

The energy industry is at a pivotal point in history. Traditional energy producers, such as oil and gas, need to become more sustainable and the world is looking for alternative energy sources. Our engineers are at the forefront of this energy transition for our clients.

As an Electrical Engineering Graduate, you would join our 60 strong electrical engineering team based in Leatherhead, Surrey, and get to be part of some amazing projects. We would be committed to developing your skills and career on some of the biggest and best projects out there.

What does the scheme involve?

At KBR we love to teach and support new professionals. You will be given the latest training and tools needed to further your skills and become a key member of our thriving team. The graduate programme is IET accredited, and our established mentor system will help support and advise you on your journey towards chartership.

The 2-year scheme would give you experience of a myriad of projects as you would rotate across clients. You could be offered opportunities to work across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. You would be joining a large graduate global family with automatic enrollment in the vibrant KBR IMPACT network, which promotes new professionals and organises social activities across all our locations

What type of projects would you be working on?

You would be working on energy security and energy transition projects with an increasing focus on designing provision of sustainable electrical power for the electrical distribution systems in facilities focussed on plastics recycling, LNG, Ammonia, Hydrogen production, Refineries and oil / gas processing plants. You would be joining a group which includes apprentices and graduates through to principal engineers and experienced designers. The projects range from 1MW through to 500MW at voltages from 230V ac to 380kV ac depending on the type of installation.

With an electrical engineering degree, you would be passionate about your subject and its application in the changing energy industry. Most of all you are keen to learn and get stuck in.

What will you do?
  • You will be based at our office in Leatherhead, Surrey and become part of our electrical engineering team, this will involve working on and contributing to different projects in various stages.
  • Helping design electrical systems at various stages of projects from concept definition right through to detailed design and supporting construction and commissioning phases.
  • Different rotations will allow you to develop your skills and provide you with a wide range experience and could provide you with the opportunity to work abroad at one of our other offices in locations like Baku and Chennai.
  • Site based rotations available to further enhance knowledge, skills and experience.
