Our work supports safety and quality across the food, water, medicines and forensics sectors, with a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion across Eurofins.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, describe, and dispense items for forensic toxicology examination in line with company SOPs, and manage return and destruction of exhibits.
  • Assist with administrative duties of the Toxicology team and provide support for scientific activities where relevant.
  • Interact effectively within the team, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and manage and organise your own tasks while supporting others.
  • Understand the needs of internal and external customers to enhance the reputation of Eurofins Forensic Services.
  • Coordinate the receipt, return and transfer of items submitted for forensic examination, ensuring chain of custody and item integrity in line with SOPs.
  • Analyse customer details to identify which discipline and location cases should be managed in line with SOPs.
  • Describe contents of exhibits accurately in line with laboratory SOPs and dispense samples ready for laboratory analysis.
  • Report cases of compromised items/cases as detailed in SOPs; prioritise submissions based on urgency and turnaround time (TAT) to support timely examination and reporting.
  • Ensure safe handling of hazardous and sensitive items, including those covered by the Human Tissue Act.
  • Adhere to anti-contamination procedures and maintain records for compliance.
  • Proactively complete general office duties and handle enquiries from customers, either directly or through colleagues within the team.
  • Ensure statements/reports are delivered to customers as outlined in protocols; provide scientific support to the reporting team as appropriate.
  • Manage court warnings and charging on behalf of Reporting Officers.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with customers and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of work.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Experience with LIMS or a database system is advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience in an administrative role, preferably in a scientific or professional environment.
