Class 1 Days

The Best Connection are currently recruiting experienced HGV Drivers for ongoing work based in Team Valley and Washington.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional drivers seeking full-time, weekday work with consistent hours. Drivers must be able to operate Class 1, Class 2 and 7.5T vehicles as required, with all hours paid at the Class 1 rate, regardless of vehicle driven.

Immediate starts are available, with the potential for a temp-to-perm opportunity.

The Role

• Working from either Team Valley or Washington, depending on operational requirements
• Driving Class 1, Class 2 and 7.5T vehicles as required
• All hours paid at the Class 1 rate
• Completing multi-drop collections and deliveries, typically 10-15 stops per day
• Using handheld scanners and apps to record deliveries and complete paperwork
• Locating, scanning and palletising goods within the depot
• Ensuring goods are safely loaded, secured and delivered on time
• Completing daily vehicle checks and maintaining safety standards
• Following planned routes, with approximately 80% of stops being regular deliveries
• Communicating effectively with customers and the transport team

The Candidate

To be considered, you must:

• Hold a valid Class 1 (Category C+E) driving licence
• Have at least 1 year's professional HGV driving experience
• Hold a valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Be willing and able to drive Class 1, Class 2 and 7.5T vehicles
• Be flexible to work from Team Valley or Washington
• Be comfortable using handheld scanners and delivery systems
• Be reliable, professional and safety-conscious
• Have good communication and customer service skills
• Be flexible and able to work independently

Flexibility is essential, as drivers must adapt to changing vehicle and depot requirements.

Hours of Work

• Monday to Friday
• Day shifts
• Start time: 09:00
• Typical finish: 17:30 (may vary depending on workload)
• Consistent weekly hours
• Ongoing work available

Pay

• £16.36 per hour - Class 1 rate
• £24.54 per hour after 40 hours
• All hours paid at the Class 1 rate, including Class 2 and 7.5T driving
