They are approachable, grounded, and genuinely invested in each other’s success, making this an excellent environment for experienced professionals looking to take the next step in their career and make a tangible impact.

Environmental Manager
Scotland / Hybrid / Site-based across Angus, Argyll & Bute, Aberdeenshire, Highland and the Central Belt
£50,000 – £65,000 per annum

About the Role

As an Environmental Manager, you will take a leading role in delivering environmental compliance and consultancy across a diverse portfolio of projects. These include renewable energy, grid infrastructure, and major developments that support Scotland and the UK’s Net Zero ambitions, delivering meaningful, lasting benefits to local communities and the wider environment.

This is a hands-on, site-focused role requiring a visible presence on active construction sites. You will provide leadership, guidance, and strategic oversight to ensure environmental best practice is embedded throughout project lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead environmental compliance and assurance across multiple projects and sites
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) and associated documentation
  • Act as a key environmental lead, working closely with contractors, engineers, project managers, and clients
  • Provide expert advice on environmental risks, mitigation strategies, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure works are delivered in line with environmental legislation, planning conditions, and industry best practice
  • Review and approve environmental reports, audits, and site documentation
  • Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to their development
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor

About You

  • A degree in Environmental Management or a related discipline
  • Significant experience within environmental consultancy or a similar role (typically 8–15 years)
  • Strong experience working on construction, infrastructure, or renewable energy projects
  • Proven ability to lead environmental delivery on complex or large-scale projects
  • Confident operating in site environments (PPE, active construction sites, and practical conditions)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to influence and drive best practice
  • A genuine commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development

Location & Travel

We are particularly interested in applicants based in Angus, Argyll & Bute, Aberdeenshire, Highland, and across the Central Belt.

This is a hybrid role, with a strong site-based focus supporting projects across Scotland. Travel will be required depending on project locations.

All travel expenses and accommodation (where required) are fully covered.

Salary & Benefits

  • £50,000 – £65,000 per annum
  • 31 days annual leave rising to 36 with length of service
  • 5% Employer Pension contributions
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Paid professional membership…and much more
