This role involves ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed to the highest standards while minimizing downtime and costs for customers.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform scheduled maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and avoid unnecessary part replacementsRespond promptly to out-of-hours callouts, troubleshooting faults effectively and restoring equipment operationCollect, label, and dispatch oil samples to the laboratory in accordance with agreed proceduresSelect and order the correct parts, returning any unused items to minimize wasteMaintain van stock accurately, using parts responsibly, and reporting any shortages to the Area ManagerCustomer and Team SupportBuild and maintain positive relationships with customers by providing professional, responsive supportMaintain clear communication with the Area Manager, customers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth site operationsDocument all site visits and complete detailed service reports in line with agreed quality standards and deadlinesTools and EquipmentKeep company-provided tools and equipment in excellent condition, ensuring they are clean, well-maintained, and calibrated as requiredMaintain high standards of site cleanliness and presentationSupervision and TrainingSupport the Area Manager by supervising, training, and mentoring apprentices and new team membersHealth, Safety, and EnvironmentAdhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations at all timesWhat We're Looking ForTechnical Skills And KnowledgeStrong engineering expertise with a solid understanding of gas engines and related systemsElectrical and mechanical engineering knowledgeGas Safe registeredProficient IT skills to document work and support reporting requirementsCoaching and mentoring abilitiesPersonal AttributesTrustworthy, professional, and reliableFlexible and adaptable to changing demandsCustomer-focused with strong relationship-building skillsOrganized and able to manage workload effectivelyProactive, taking initiative to ensure tasks are completed efficientlyResilient under pressure and committed to quality and improvementQualifications And ExperienceEssential:A minimum of 5 years\' service engineering experienceNVQ Level 3 or City and Guilds qualification in Electrical or Mechanical EngineeringApprentice-trained engineerGas Safe registrationFull driving licenseWillingness to travel extensively, work unsociable hours, and stay away from home when requiredDesirable:Experience with gas enginesBenefitsCompetitive hourly rate with overtime paid at 1.5x basic rateUp to 30 min travel each way, each day paid at single timeOn call rota participation with call-out fee25 days holiday plus 8 Bank HolidaysOpportunity to buy or sell up to 5 days additional holidays per yearCompany pension contribution of 7%Company Van providedComprehensive training program on Jenbacher engines and systemsWe’re updating opportunities across regions.
