BM Connect, is a proud division within the Beavis Morgan Group, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Accountant to join our London team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering exceptional financial services to our clients, whilst driving improvements in processes, insights, and performance.

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation, analysis, and delivery of accurate financial reports. You will lead on management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.

In this client-facing role, you will manage your own portfolio, supervise junior team members, and work closely with Client Managers to ensure the highest quality service is provided.

Key Responsibilities

• Portfolio Management: Take full responsibility for service delivery to your portfolio of clients, reporting directly to the Client Manager.
• Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, for review.
• VAT & Payroll Compliance: Prepare VAT returns, annual P11Ds, and PAYE Settlement Agreements for your clients.
• Client Advisory: Provide sound financial advice, including budgeting, forecasting, and performance improvement recommendations, with support from the Client Manager.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis to compare actuals with budgets/forecasts, identify trends, and highlight cost-saving opportunities.
• Account Reconciliations: Oversee bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable, and intercompany transactions, resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Team Supervision: Review bookkeeping and less complex VAT returns prepared by junior team members, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.
• Process Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to financial processes, systems, and reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Strategic Input: Support senior management by delivering ad-hoc financial analysis and insights to inform business planning and growth.

About You

• ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with strong post-qualification experience.
• Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
• Strong understanding of VAT, payroll, and financial compliance requirements.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships.
• Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to provide insightful business advice.
