We are AMS. We are a global total workforce solutions firm; we enable organisations to thrive in an age of constant change by building, re-shaping, and optimising workforces. Our Contingent Workforce Solution (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of Rolls-Royce's recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.

Rolls-Royce is a respected engineering organisation operating in many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine, and defence. Rolls-Royce pioneers cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe, and competitive solutions to meet our planet's vital power needs. Due to exciting changes and transformational activities across the Rolls-Royce business, we are now seeking to add a number of Lifecycle Engineers.

The Lifecycle Engineer will be based in Derby 3 days per week, with 2 days remote working, on a 24-month contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage known and potential safety issues (e.g., SAR & Red Top).
  • Participate in safety boards as outlined in the Safety Management Plan.
  • Predict future safety and reliability performance using statistical techniques.
  • Conduct Numerical Risk Assessments and Parametric Distribution analysis.
  • Review and maintain lifecycle engineering policies and maintenance planning documentation.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities through lifecycle analysis.
  • Manage issues affecting Maturity, Lifecycle Cost, Reliability, and Maintainability.
  • Ensure alignment with Design Intent throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Provide and model lifecycle technical data (build, in-service, decommissioning).
  • Support time-on-platform predictions and optimization strategies.
  • Identify and define requirements for new Health Monitoring Systems or capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and stakeholder requirements.
  • Act as Technical Authority where delegated, providing assurance on build, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Gather in-service data to identify best practices and lessons learned.
  • Feed insights into future programmes and product design teams.

Criteria:

  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related numerical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of component/system functionality and numerical methods.
  • Proven experience working on complex, novel, and ambiguous engineering tasks.
  • Familiarity with in-service operational environments, including regulatory and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams (e.g., specialists, suppliers, customers, partners).
  • Strong communication and documentation skills.

To work for Rolls-Royce, you may need to hold a Security Check (SC). Rolls-Royce will support the application for SC if you don't currently have this and it is required for the role. Due to the nature of work and asset protection, some roles require UK nationality.
