Description

Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Location: Brierfield, Burnley

Salary: Up to £37,834 (depending on qualification held)*

Are you a passionate and experienced support worker ready to take the next step in your career? Do you thrive in a nurturing, child-focused environment where every day brings the opportunity to make a real difference?

We’re looking for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our dedicated team in Brierfield.

Apply now and help shape brighter futures for children who need it most.

About the Role

Lily Lodge is a solo EBD home, providing our young person a safe, caring and structured home environment.

As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll play a key part in the running of the home and the needs of your young person.

Responsibilities

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • Supporting care plans and helping young people achieve their goals
  • Leading by example and supporting junior colleagues on shift
  • Promoting a safe, clean, and happy home environment
  • Encouraging learning, development, and independence in every child
  • Keeping records up to date with care and professionalism

What We Are Looking For

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in residential childcare
  • A Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare (or an accepted equivalent)
  • A full UK driving licence – essential for transporting young people and attending external meetings
  • A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach to care
  • Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins (rota given in advance but likely to be 2-on, 4-off)
  • Candidates must have to work in the UK

Successful employment is subject to satisfactory Full Enhanced Disclosure, right to work and reference checks in line with government regulations and Safer Recruitment Practices (the company will cover the costs). All young people are equally entitled to have their needs met in a fair and balanced way. Esland employees are responsible for promoting equal opportunities for all and for challenging any behaviour or practice which discriminates against any young person or colleague on the grounds of race, religion, disability, age, gender, sexual orientation, or any other perceived difference.

What We Can Offer

We want you to feel valued and supported in your role and as such, we offer a number of benefits, incentives and inhouse. Our benefits include (but are not limited to):

  • A competitive salary of £34,408 to £37,834 per year (depending on qualification held)*
  • A day off for your birthday (in addition to your holiday entitlement)
  • Access to a holiday home based in the Peak District where you can stay for free, on the company!
  • A casual dress code
  • Free food while you are on shift
  • Enhanced pay rates for overtime and bank holidays
  • Comprehensive induction and ongoing training (accredited by the Bild Association)
  • Career development opportunities – we had over 100 internal promotions last year!
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program, Online GP, healthcare and cashback, discounts and gift vouchers (through our employee rewards app)
  • Monthly recognition awards

*Estimated salary based on a pay rate of £13.80 to £15.45 per hour for days (depending on qualifications held) and working 8 sleep-nights per month on average (at £60 per sleep night). Rates applicable from April 2026.
