Job Description

Affinity Partnerships are seeking compassionate and dedicated Autism Support Workers to join a welcoming Special Educational Needs (SEN) School. The school supports pupils aged 4-11 years with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and other complex learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of children by helping them develop confidence, independence and essential life skills.

The Role

\n

As an Autism Support Worker, you will work closely with students, teachers and therapists to provide tailored support throughout the school day. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils with autism and additional learning needs in the classroom and around the school
  • \n
  • Assisting with personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
  • \n
  • Supporting pupils during mealtimes
  • \n
  • Providing physical support, including moving and handling where necessary
  • \n
  • Promoting independence, confidence and positive behaviours
  • \n
  • Building strong, supportive relationships with pupils and staff
  • \n
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • \n

Previous experience supporting individuals with autism, SEND, care, youth work or support work is desirable but not essential.
