SEND Teaching Assistant - Sheldon, Birmingham

Monarch Education are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work full time in a mainstream primary school in the Sheldon area of Birmingham. This role is starting after half term, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm and ongoing from September 2026 until July 2027. This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with Autism, ADHD and Behavioural needs. Requirements of applicant:

\n

\n
• You must be experienced working with children who has Autistic, ADHD and Behavioural needs
\n
• Ideally you would hold a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare, Education or SEND
\n
• Strong understanding of SEND needs and strategies
\n
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team and collaborate with staff and parents
\n

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils across the school with Autism, ADHD and Behavioural Needs
\n
• Assisting in implementing Individualised Education Plans and tailored learning strategies
\n
• Support pupils in classroom activities and encourage positive social interactions
\n
• Manage challenging behaviour with appropriate strategies and techniques
\n
• Help pupils with personal care and daily routines as needed
\n
• Work closely with teachers and parents to monitor pupil progress and adjust support where necessary
\n

Salary: £79 - £111 per day (Reviewed after 12 weeks placement*)
