Quantum Care is a no‑for‑profit organisation supporting over 2,000 older people across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Essex. Our mission is simple: to help our residents live well, with dignity, comfort and joy. To do that, we need people who care as much as we do and Make Every Day Matter.

We are seeking a Care Assistant to join our welcoming Care Home Vesta Lodge based in St Albans. Vesta Lodge is a 61 bed residential care home which is welcoming, values driven based team where collaboration, compassion, respect and person-centred care is at the heart of everything they do.

As a Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate person-cantered care and support residents with respect and dignity to maintain independence.

What You’ll Bring

  • It is not necessary to have previous experience of working in a similar care environment because, as long as you are an empathetic individual who has a positive attitude and good communication skills, our first-class training will do the rest.
  • You will be able to undertake all aspects of caring for older people with compassion and respect in order to meet the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents.
  • Our staff have access to first class induction training and ongoing learning and development opportunities including the opportunity to work towards industry recognised qualifications.
  • Our Homes operate on a 24/7, 365-day basis therefore you will need to be able to work shifts (including weekends, evenings and Bank Holidays).
  • You must be aged 18 years or over to apply for this job.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care and support, including assistance with washing, dressing, grooming and toileting, as well as assisting with meals, hydration and nutritional care.
  • Assisting residents with daily activities promoting independence
  • Building positive and professional relationships with residents, families and colleagues
  • Follow individual personalised care plans
  • Working as a part of a team to deliver high quality of person- centred care

Why Join Quantum Care?

We value our teams and invest in their wellbeing, growth and success. In return for your dedication, you’ll receive:

  • Competitive salary with enhanced pay on weekends and Bank Holidays
  • Clear career development pathways and recognition of milestones
  • First‑class in‑house training from day one
  • Free Employee Assistance Programme offering 24/7 support
  • Company pension scheme (after 1 year of service)
  • Free DBS check and uniform
  • Access to retail discounts and exclusive offers
  • A supportive, values‑driven workplace where your contribution truly matters

Terms and Conditions apply to all benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well‑established organisation offering rewarding work, a strong sense of purpose and real opportunities for progression. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds who have the right to work in the UK. Please note that we are unable to offer sponsorship at this time.

An Overseas Police Check/ Certificate of Good Conduct may be required if you have lived or worked outside the UK for 12 Months or more, spent a significant period overseas, or worked abroad in a position of trust. This will be in addition to a mandatory Enhanced DBS check.
