This is an exciting opportunity to join us as the Service Manager for residential children's homes and supported accommodation. All our children’s homes are currently rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted.
Cheshire West and Chester Council is a place where everyone can Thrive – through our core values of Teamwork, Honesty, Respect, Innovation, Value for Money and Empowerment.
The role will provide leadership and management support to children's homes within the locality, supporting the Registered Managers with a range of leadership functions including supervision, budget management and staff recruitment. There are currently homes across the locality which are under the steward of the existing Residential Service Manager, and the new appointee will work in tandem with them, taking stewardship of the new homes as our residential estate expands.
The role will also provide operational management support to a commissioned service responsible for the provision of direct care to young people in supported accommodation across an additional site. These young people are aged between and years old.
The role will support the planned expansion of residential children’s services in meeting the needs of children within the Cheshire West and Chester locality. This will mean working closely with the Head of Service and associated support staff in the delivery of future planned children's homes.
A key function of the role is to be the Responsible Individual (RI) for the new children's homes. Supporting managers in meeting statutory compliance around registration criteria, maintaining safeguarding and standards of care within the homes are just some of the key responsibilities.
Additionally, liaising with the regulator, Ofsted, in supporting our homes to become rated as ‘Outstanding’, and offering the best possible care to children is a key component of the role.
