Job description

Role Purpose

The Nuclear Equipment Surveyor role requires a combination of administrative and technical skills. In the pre-manufacturing phase the Surveyor will be required to review procedures and inspection plans to establish conformity with international codes and standards and project specific requirements. The Surveyor will need good communication skills both written and verbal in on-line and face to face meetings to explain the findings of the reviews to the manufacturer and the end client. In the manufacturing phase the Surveyor will supervise remotely on-site inspectors, review and collate inspection reports and communicate findings to the end customer for their action. Further attendance at on-line and face to face meetings will be required along with periodic visits to manufacturing locations in the UK and Europe. Technical skills required include welding, materials, heat treatment and NDT. It is recognised that candidates may not be experts in all these topics and the LRQA Nuclear Team has dedicated experts in each of these fields who will provide support.
