Supply Desk are seeking a confident and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a welcoming secondary school in Chichester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you're considering a career in teaching or have previous experience working with young people.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring pupils remain engaged with the work provided while maintaining a positive and productive learning environment.
Supervise whole classes during teacher absences across a range of subjects.
Deliver pre-planned lessons and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged.
Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.
Support pupils with questions relating to the work set.
Foster a positive, inclusive and respectful learning environment.
Report back to teaching staff on pupil progress and behaviour.
Build positive relationships with pupils and staff across the school.
Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
Confident managing groups of pupils in a classroom setting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Calm, adaptable and resilient approach.
Strong organisational skills and ability to think on your feet.
A genuine interest in education and supporting young people's development.
