Position: Cover Supervisor

Pay Rate: £100 – £120 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role
Supply Desk is seeking a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school in the Southampton area.
This is an excellent long-term opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable classroom experience, whether you're considering a future career in teaching or already have experience working with young people.
Working across a variety of subjects, including regular PE lessons, you'll play an important role in ensuring students remain engaged with their learning while maintaining a positive and well-managed classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver pre-planned lessons during teacher absences across KS3 and KS4.

Supervise classes and ensure pupils remain focused and engaged.

Support positive behaviour in line with the school's behaviour policy.

Provide guidance and clarification on lesson tasks where appropriate.

Cover a range of curriculum areas, including Physical Education.

Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment.

Build positive relationships with students and staff across the school.
Candidate Requirements

A degree is desirable but not essential.

Experience working with children or young people is advantageous.

Strong classroom presence and excellent communication skills.

Confident managing behaviour and maintaining high expectations.

Flexible, reliable and able to adapt to different subjects and year groups.

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
