Learning Support Assistant – Borehamwood

Supply Desk are seeking a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in the Borehamwood area, starting this September.
This full-time role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full potential. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide high-quality classroom support, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment for all pupils. Experience supporting students with additional learning needs, including SEND, is desirable but not essential.
You will play a key role in supporting students both within the classroom and through targeted interventions, helping to build confidence, encourage independence, and promote positive learning behaviours. You will also work collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where required to ensure every student receives the support they need to succeed.

Responsibilities:
• Provide classroom support to individuals and small groups of students
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities
• Support students with additional learning needs, including SEND where required
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage student independence
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to support student development
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable
• A passion for supporting children's learning and development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required
• Knowledge/Maintenance/Promotion of safeguarding
