The Bath Priory is a 5-star Relais & Châteaux hotel, and we have proudly held 5-star awards for more than ten years. This is more than a reception role. You’ll be one of the faces of The Bath Priory, welcoming guests, getting to know them, anticipating what they might need and helping them make the very most of their stay in Bath.

What will you be doing?

As a Receptionist, you’ll be at the heart of our guest experience, from the moment someone thinks about staying with us until the moment they leave.

You’ll be:

• Welcoming and hosting our guests with warmth, confidence and genuine personality.
• Managing the guest journey from check-in through to check-out, ensuring every interaction feels personal and thoughtful.
• Getting to know our guests and understanding what will make their stay special, whether that’s recommending a hidden Bath gem, arranging a restaurant booking or simply taking the time for a conversation.
• Sharing your knowledge of Bath and the local area, helping guests discover the very best of the city.
• Taking reservations and assisting with restaurant, spa and other hotel arrangements.
• Handling guest requests and queries with a calm, positive and can-do approach.
• Working closely with our Restaurants, Housekeeping, Spa and other teams to make sure the whole guest journey feels seamless.
• Helping to create those little moments of thoughtfulness and surprise that guests remember long after they leave.
• Supporting your colleagues across the hotel when needed because we are one team.
• Ensuring our high 5-star standards are maintained while still delivering service that feels natural, warm and genuinely human.

The person we're looking for

This role would suit someone who already has experience in a reception, front office, hotel, hospitality or guest-facing role, and who is ready to bring their personality to a truly special property.

You’ll be someone who:

You don't need to know everything. We value people who are curious, willing to learn and happy to share their wisdom with the team.

Your shifts

Our Reception team operates across a variety of shifts, including:

Early shift: 7:00am – 3:30pm
Late shift: 3:00pm – 11:30pm

Shift patterns vary, and flexibility is important. In return, we will always do our best to create fair rotas and support a healthy life/work balance.

We know you have a life outside the hotel – and we think that's important too.

SERVICE CHARGE - We believe our team should share in the success they help create.

Every month, our service charge goes into one pot, and 100% of the service charge received is shared amongst the hotel team.

For a full-time employee, service charge can be around £160 per month – close to £2,000 a year – on top of your base pay, depending on the month.

You will also receive tips on top.
