Protocol Education is working with welcoming and inclusive schools across Leeds looking for experienced British Sign Language (BSL) Teaching Assistants to support pupils with hearing impairments and additional learning needs.

What you'll be doing
No two days are ever quite the same, but you'll spend your time:
- Supporting pupils with hearing impairments on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
- Using British Sign Language (BSL) to support communication throughout the school day
- Helping pupils take part in lessons and classroom activities with confidence
- Encouraging independence, social development and positive relationships
- Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals
- Creating a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child can flourish
What we're looking for
You'll be a great fit if you have:
- BSL Level 3 qualification or above (preferred)
- Experience working with children or young people in education or care settings
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH, hearing impairments or additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, calm and nurturing approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues

- Learning Support Assistant
- Communication Support Worker
- Hearing Impairment Support Assistant
