PHP Developer- Melksham (Office Based)- Permanent- Up to £65k depending on experience
\nOur client based in Melksham are on the lookout for a highly motivated Software Developer to join an experienced in-house team building and improving business-critical systems. This is a hands-on role focused on developing robust internal applications, solving real operational problems and supporting a fast-moving business environment.
\nKey responsibilities:
\n * Develop and maintain scalable applications using PHP, MySQL and JavaScript
\n * Improve existing systems for performance, usability and reliability
\n * Troubleshoot technical and business-critical issues
\n * Work closely with internal teams to deliver effective software solutions
\n * Use modern development tools, including AI-assisted workflows
Key skills and experience:
\n * Strong PHP 7/8 experience with solid OOP principles
\n * Strong MySQL and relational database knowledge
\n * HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript experience
\n * Python knowledge, ideally with exposure to AI projects
\n * Experience with VSCode and AI-assisted development tools
\n * Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
Desirable skills:
\n * AWS, Docker, Git, Redis, RabbitMQ
\n * SQL Server, ElasticSearch/Lucene
\n * Linux server administration via SSH
