Experience required…
Essential:
- Degree in Civil Engineering, or relevant degree with compensatory knowledge, abilities and skills
- Full Driving Licence
- Proven understanding of highway engineering and design standards, and the ability to translate and communicate these to stakeholders
- Substantial understanding of DRMB, MCHW and TSM/TSRGD.
- Be confident to work independently, with minimal to no supervision within the team.
- Experience in checking and monitoring the work of others as well as providing guidance to junior members of staff.
- Specialist in the design process of at least one of these disciplines: pavement, VRS or traffic signs/markings.
- Proficient in producing: Specification of Works, Pre-Construction Packs, H&S files, Registers, Risk assessments and Bill of Quantities.
- Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and how to identify, eliminate or mitigate health and safety risks and hazards.
- Able to attend an office at least 3 times a week.
- Have very high standards for quality of work and drawing presentation.
- Able to lead meeting with the client, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Project Management experience and ability to report back to the client.
- Experienced in AutoCAD Civils 3D and 2D.
- Able to produce Traffic Signs designs and road markings.
- An understanding of the DMRB departure process.
- Knowledge of the NEC4 contracts and Compensation Events and Early Warnings.
Desirable:
- Previous National Highways experience.
