Outbound Shift Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for managing the distribution operations. Responsible for overseeing the efficient and accurate distribution of our products and managing the distribution shift; optimising processes, ensuring timely deliveries, and fostering a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Leading a team of Colleagues on the shift to ensure that the shift KPIs are met in full and on time.
• Engaging and developing the team to achieve optimum performance and for the Colleagues to meet their full potential.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures in all distribution activities, including proper handling, storage, and shipping of meal kits to maintain product integrity.
• Continuously evaluate and enhance distribution processes to maximise efficiency, minimise errors, and streamline operations. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure that all outgoing orders meet quality standards, performing regular audits and inspections to minimise errors and product damage.
• Role modelling the Company’s DNA and ensuring that these are followed by the team.
• Dealing with day to day queries from Colleagues – liaising with HR, Training Teams as required.
• Maintain up to date and accurate records (including computerised/digital) on production, food safety data and analyse this data to identify trends, problems and opportunities for improvement.
• Foster effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth coordination of operations and address any issues or concerns.
• Ensuring that Food Safety and Health & Safety standards are met and sustainably maintained. You are required to cooperate with HelloFresh in all health and safety matters. You are responsible for ensuring your own health, safety and welfare in the activities you undertake. You must report incidents immediately and actively raise health and safety-related concerns to your Line Manager
• Undertaking basic problem solving activities and escalating to the Distribution Manager where necessary.
• Ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions.
• Effectively coordinating the service so that operations run smoothly.
• Undertaking audits and following through on actions regarding compliance to Food Safety; Health & Safety Standards and any other specified standards eg: BRCGS, ISO.
• Leading or being involved in ad hoc projects as and when required.
• Championing key Company strategies; initiatives – eg: Colleague Happiness Surveys; Diverse & Inclusive working; Colleague Wellbeing.
• Any other responsibilities/duties which would be reasonably expected as part of this role.

Who You Are

• Proven experience in distribution management position.
• Proficient in using warehouse management systems and other relevant software applications.
• Proficient in G-Suite
• Solid Awareness of distribution processes, and quality control practices.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and practices, with a commitment to promoting a culture of safety.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate across various levels of the organisation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify process inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Lead by example and ensure that HelloFresh DNA is at the forefront of everything we do.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.

Location: The Windmill, SmartParc, Derby, Spondon, DerbyDE21 7HW

Hours; Wednesday to Saturday, 4 on 3 off, rotating from days to nights
