Overview

The Role and Team

This position is working 24 hours per week, any 3 in 6 days including bank holidays. This is a 6 month fixed term contract.

Our drivers are the face of our business and their interaction with our customers is crucial to our success.

In this role you will be delivering frozen Wiltshire Farm Foods meals and bringing sunshine to our customers doors (no matter what the weather is doing). As such, you will enjoy meeting people and always be willing to go above and beyond what is expected.

Along with this, you will be working within our coldstore that runs at a chilly -20ºc. Protective clothing designed to deal with this temperature will be provided along with breaks to warm up and have a hot drink when necessary.

You will need to work as part of the wider team always looking to help out the office team. We encourage movement between teams to provide flexibility, job satisfaction, personal development and knowledge of the whole business.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver frozen meals to our customers in a timely manner
  • Picking orders within the coldstore
  • Using our app to update customers deliveries
  • Delivering exceptional customer service at all times
  • Undertake pre-shift inspection of your van
  • Drive safely, responsibly and within the law
  • Clean and refuel your van as and when needed
  • Contact the office with any discrepancies or delays
  • Ensure customer confidentiality
  • Helping the office team and picking team when required
  • Reporting health and safety, stock quality and mechanical issues
  • Assist the team if another member of the team is absent or on holiday

Qualifications / Personal Qualities

Essential :

  • Experience within a customer service-based role
  • Full UK Manual Driving Licence
  • Basic computer literacy including use of phone apps
  • Evidence of work stability
  • Basic secondary education
  • Desirable :

  • Experience of multi-drop delivery role
  • Experience within a care-based role
  • Warehouse experience
  • Health & Safety awareness
  • Personal Qualities

  • Friendly, approachable and reliable
  • Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
  • Good attendance and timekeeping
  • You must have held a UK manual driving licence for at least 3 years.

    All offers of employment are subject to a Driving Assessment, Driving Licence checks and DBS checks.

    As this role involves working with elderly and vulnerable customers, it is exempt from The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an Standard DBS Disclosure.

    The amendments to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (2013 and 2020) provides that when applying for certain jobs and activities, certain convictions and cautions are considered ‘protected’. This means that they do not need to be disclosed to employers, and if they are disclosed, employers cannot take them into account.
