Job description
The Role As Transport Manager, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of the transport function, leading a traffic office team and overseeing c.40 drivers. You will play a key part in strengthening operational discipline, improving communication, and driving service performance across the depot. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop the traffic office team Oversee daily collections, deliveries, route adherence, and driver allocation. Maintain operational discipline and ensure compliance across the fleet. Manage driver performance, behaviour, and accountability. Work closely with pallet networks Resolve issues quickly and make confident operational decisions. Drive improvements across processes, standards, and overall operational culture. What We're Looking For Proven leadership in a traffic office or transport management environment. Strong understanding of Transport cost control and profit levers Transport planning knowledge and understanding Experience of pallet networks would be preferred however we are flexible on sector background Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
