\n Monarch Education are working with secondary schools across Weston-super-Mare who are looking for reliable Cover Supervisors to support pupils and maintain continuity of learning from the start of the new academic year.

The role
\n As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-prepared work, keep pupils focused on their learning and maintain a positive, well-managed classroom environment across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

\n This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Cover Supervisor, teaching assistant, sports coach, graduate or someone with relevant experience working with young people who is considering a career in teaching.

You will be:
\n * Supervising classes across a range of secondary school subjects
\n * Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring pupils remain on task
\n * Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
\n * Supporting pupils with instructions and activities where appropriate
\n * Creating a calm, inclusive and purposeful learning environment
\n * Reporting back to teaching staff on pupil engagement and any issues
\n * Supporting pupils of varying abilities and learning needs
\n * Assisting with general school duties where required
\n * Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
\n * Following safeguarding procedures and school expectations at all times

We are looking for someone who is:
\n * Confident supervising groups of secondary-aged pupils
\n * Able to manage classroom behaviour effectively
\n * Organised, reliable and adaptable
\n * Positive, enthusiastic and resilient
\n * A clear and confident communicator
\n * Comfortable following lesson plans and school procedures
\n * Passionate about supporting young people's learning, confidence and development

Requirements:
\n * Experience working with young people in a school, coaching, tutoring, youth work or similar setting is desirable
\n * Strong classroom management and communication skills
\n * Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply for one
\n * Right to work in the UK
\n * Willingness to complete registration, compliance and safeguarding checks
