About the role

Lycetts Financial Services, who are proudly part of Benefact Group, are looking for a Paraplanner to join their Newcastle upon Tyne office.

Working as part of a collaborative and experienced paraplanning function, you will support our Financial Advisers in delivering high-quality, holistic financial planning solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the client journey, using your technical expertise and analytical skills to help create personalised financial plans and cashflow modelling strategies that support clients in achieving their financial goals.

You'll work closely with advisers and fellow colleagues in a supportive environment that encourages professional development and continuous learning.

Why join us?

Join a collaborative and inclusive culture that’s committed to making a difference and building a more sustainable future. Ranked amongst the UK's 15 Best Big Companies to Work For in 2025, we offer fantastic career and development opportunities within a rapidly growing, innovative Group - where all profits go to charity and good causes.

What you'll be doing

As a Paraplanner, you'll provide technical research, analysis and report-writing support to our Financial Advisers, helping to deliver compliant, high-quality financial planning advice to clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting advisers with client reviews through the effective use of financial planning technology and systems.

  • Conducting detailed research and analysis of financial products, investment solutions and planning strategies.

  • Performing technical calculations, including Capital Gains Tax (CGT), Inheritance Tax (IHT) and pension contribution analysis.

  • Gathering, reviewing and maintaining accurate client documentation within our CRM systems to support recommendations and advice.

  • Preparing clear, compliant and comprehensive suitability reports in a timely manner.

  • Keeping up to date with industry regulations, products and market developments to support best practice advice.

What you'll need to have

  • Previous experience working as a Paraplanner within a financial planning or wealth management environment.

  • A strong understanding of financial planning principles, products and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience conducting research, analysing financial information and producing suitability reports.

  • Confidence completing technical financial calculations and interpreting client data.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

What makes you stand out

  • Experience using Intelligent Office, Analytics or Defaqto.

  • A CII Diploma qualification or are actively working towards Chartered Insurance Institute examinations.

  • Knowledge of cashflow modelling software and broader financial planning tools.

  • A proactive approach to learning and professional development.

  • The ability to build strong working relationships with advisers and colleagues while contributing positively to a team environment.

What we offer

  • A competitive salary - let's discuss it

  • Hybrid working available upon successful completion of probation

  • Employer pension contribution of 5% rising to 10% after 5 years membership of the pension scheme

  • Annual Bonus scheme (Discretionary based on individual and company performance)

  • Life Assurance cover up to 4 x salary, and Group Income Protection scheme up to 65% of salary

  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (rising to 26 and 27 for 5 and 10 years’ service respectively)

  • Career development opportunities with funded support and financial incentives for all professional qualifications.

  • An Employee Assistance Programme with a wide range of benefits helping employees to stay healthy and feel supported.
