Mechanical Fitter
\nFirst Achieve's Engineering Department is recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled
\nMechanical Fitter to join their manufacturing team.
\nOur client is a well-established engineering company with over 60 years of industry
\nexperience, specialising in the design and manufacture of advanced engineering equipment
\nfor a global customer base. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected manufacturer,
\nworking on technically challenging projects within a modern production environment.
\nThe Role
\nAs a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
\n* Mechanical assembly and testing of water systems, including manifolds, pump skids
\nand interconnecting pipework. Experience working with mild steel, stainless steel and
\ncopper is essential.
\n* Installation of pneumatic systems, including running pneumatic lines from valves,
\ndevices and air islands.
\n* Installation of vacuum pipework and vacuum components using bolted connections.
\n* Assembly and installation of inert gas pipework using stainless steel and other
\nsuitable materials.
\n* Precision mechanical assembly of furnace components, ensuring the highest standards
\nof quality and workmanship.
\n* Fault finding and diagnosing mechanical systems.
\n* Inspecting mechanical components and assemblies.
\n* Carrying out vacuum and pressure testing of components and systems (full training
\nprovided).
\n* Occasional travel to customer sites to carry out installations, servicing and repair
\nwork.
\nWhat We're Looking For
\n* Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter with a strong and stable work history.
\n* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
\n* Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
\n* A flexible, proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
\n* Time-served Mechanical Fitter or equivalent engineering qualifications are preferred
\nbut not essential.
