£13.45 per hour

A Full UK Manual driving licence is essential for this role.

This role is for anyone who wants to make a real difference, whatever your age, background, or gender (unless the role is gender specific)

You don't need to have worked in care before if you're kind, patient, and willing to learn, we'll support you every step of the way.

It could suit someone who's helped others in customer service, childcare, hospitality, teaching, or volunteering, or someone simply looking for a more meaningful job.

NB: This role is not eligible for Female Skilled Worker visa sponsorship under current UK Home Office rules, as it does not meet the required salary or skill level criteria.

Whilst we encourage applications to other roles, candidates who already have a valid right to work in the UK through other immigration routes or permissions must meet the minimum eligibility of having at least two years remaining on your current visa.

About Wood Street:

Wood Street is a welcoming home in Maryport, Cumbria, where you'll support five women with learning disabilities and a range of additional needs, including autism, epilepsy, mental health needs and complex health conditions.

Every person we support has their own personality, interests and goals, making this a varied and rewarding place to work.

As part of our dedicated team, you'll help people live as independently as possible while encouraging choice, dignity and confidence.

Whether you're supporting someone with daily living, personal care, medication, attending appointments, enjoying activities or simply spending time together, you'll be making a genuine difference to people's lives every day.

Some people also require specialist support, including catheter care and positive approaches to behaviours of concern, with full training provided where needed.

No two days are ever the same, which makes every shift interesting, rewarding and full of opportunities to celebrate achievements, big and small.

Shift Patterns:

This role involves working a variety of shifts across a 24-hour service, including days, evenings, waking nights, sleep-ins, weekends and bank holidays.

Typical shifts include:

7:00am to 3:00pm

3:00pm to 11:00pm

1:00pm to 10:00pm

1:00pm to 11:00pm

9:00am to 6:00pm

9:00am to 9:00pm

7:00am to 10:00pm

7:00am to 11:00pm

11:00pm to 7:00am (Waking Night)

Sleep-in shifts

Flexibility is important, as shift patterns are based on the needs of the people we support.

What You'll Need:

A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this role, as you'll regularly support people to access appointments, activities and opportunities within their local community.

Please note: This is a female-only position. This is a genuine occupational requirement under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010 due to the personal care needs of the people we support.
