Salary: £50,000-£60,000 plus car allowance

At Baily Garner, we're excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with Project Team Leader responsibilities to join our multidisciplinary team in Birmingham. You'll be involved in a wide range of projects across sectors such as residential, education, commercial, regeneration, and blue light services. We are looking for someone with a Quantity Surveying consultancy background, experienced in delivering an excellent client care experience to support our Cost Planning and Employers Agent delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading client engagement, presenting schemes, and managing project timelines.
• Acting as Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent.
• Appointing and overseeing the performance of the professional team.
• Preparing feasibility reports, contract documents, and budget estimates.
• Managing schemes, tendering procedures and contract arrangements.
• Delegating responsibilities while maintaining overall accountability.
• Advising clients on market conditions and procurement strategies.
• Preparing interim payment recommendations, final accounts, and variation adjustments.
• Participating in project meetings and driving successful delivery.
• Managing a project team.

What We're Looking For

• Relevant academic qualifications (e.g. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or Project Management) or highly experienced in role
• Ideally chartered (e.g. MRICS) or working towards chartership.
• 5+ years experience construction consultancy experience
• Ability to negotiate contracts and act as Employers Agent
• Experience mentoring/training others
• Excellent client-facing skills including the ability to lead schemes, negotiate and navigate challenging discussions
• Experience pre and post contract, cost planning at all RIBA stages.
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts (NEC or other forms beneficial).
• Proven experience across the full project lifecycle, both pre- and post-contract.
