Job description

Description

We are Disturbia; a fast growing, independent UK fashion brand specialising in alternative & sub-culture fashion, with an aim to harness the spirit of authenticity and individuality.

Our story is about evolving and disrupting the ordinary. Founded in 2003 by creative graduates Frank and Helen, we look to disturb the suburbs' with authentically unconventional attire for those drawn to the strange and unusual. Disturbia has since amassed a devoted following worldwide, attracting musicians, artists and free spirits alike.

Over 20 years later, we are an ever-growing team across offices in Northumberland (HQ) and East London. Our in-house team of creatives, do-ers, dreamers, and makers work collaboratively to create unique products and to deliver an exceptional customer experience for those who dare to stand out from the crowd.
With our business constantly growing, our buyers have a big responsibility to create attractive and profitable product ranges across the business. They collaborate with our Designers, Merchandisers and Technologists to put together new collections for every season.

The role of assistant buyer involves developing a commercially successful product range by building strong relationships with suppliers and analysing data to plan across all categories. Collaboration with designers and merchandisers is key to this process.

  • Manage the critical path for product development and selection.
  • Identify new product opportunities swiftly and proactively.

  • Strong understanding of brand DNA and market competition.
  • Experience as an Assistant Buyer within womenswear apparel, ideally in a fast-paced environment, with 3-4 years' industry experience.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with a confident, commercially aware approach to data analysis with experience using excel.
  • Trend-driven with the ability to identify the latest category trends, and a strong product eye.
  • Track record of streamlining the critical path and trading ranges in-season.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong, confident communicator who voices opinions easily.
  • Able to collaborate and foster a cooperative atmosphere, while equally comfortable getting on independently.
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, and a strong team player who builds relationships easily.
  • Drives projects and ideas forward, staying hyper organised and delivering projects on time.
  • Confident with people management, project management, and presentation and PowerPoint deck writing skills.
  • Has a spark of magic in their style.

Benefits

  • Annual leave allowance starting at 23 days, not including bank holidays increasing with length of service.
  • Annual leave purchase scheme
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Generous staff allowance and discount

  • Free fresh fruit, snacks and drinks in office
  • Team social fund
  • Bi-annual paid team outings

Inclusivity is a guiding principle in the culture at Disturbia, whether for our employees, customers or suppliers.
We have created an environment where our people feels valued, respected and celebrated for their unique qualities and perspectives. We are committed to prioritising our awareness, constantly learning and growing as we strive to create a more inclusive and empowered future for all we cross paths with.

Our commitment to belonging is woven into the fabric of our company values, driving us to always support diversity and inclusivity as we celebrate the magic in everyone. Welcome to Disturbia. We're an independent, subculture-led fashion brand creating unconventionally authentic attire for a global community of kindred spirits who think and act outside the box of normalcy.

Our designs are informed and inspired by the outcast, the esoteric, and the occult- we're always spinning fashion trends on their head in new and unexpected ways. We stand for the other in society, and always want to do right by our community - all while having a hell of a lot of fun in the process.

As we continue to grow, so too do we continually seek like-minded individuals to join our ranks. The right candidate for any position will be passionate about their work and dedicated to making the brand the best that it can be as we expand into new frontiers.
