Site Manager

Location: Bristol, South West England

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm

Looking for someone to start in September / October 2026

Industry: Construction – Office and Commercial Fit Out

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum

About the Company

We are working with a growing specialist construction business that is building an exciting reputation within the office and commercial fit out sector. With a strong pipeline of projects across Bristol and the surrounding area, they are now looking to bring an experienced Site Manager into the team on a permanent basis.

Job Duties

  • Take full responsibility for the successful day-to-day delivery of projects on site, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project requirements.
  • Plan, monitor and control works against the agreed programme, adjusting as necessary to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain consistently high standards of quality and workmanship throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead site health and safety initiatives, ensuring all procedures and regulations are strictly followed.
  • Conduct inductions, toolbox talks and regular site briefings to promote safety and communication.
  • Engage effectively with clients, subcontractors and the wider project team to foster positive working relationships.
  • Monitor progress closely and provide regular, accurate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify potential issues promptly and implement effective solutions to prevent programme delays.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate site records, documentation and reports.
  • Ensure all projects are completed to the highest possible standard, meeting both client and company expectations.

Required Qualifications and Certifications

  • SMSTS qualified
  • Site Managers CSCS card
  • First Aid at Work (3-day course)
  • Fire Marshal
  • Manual Handling
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Full, clean UK driving licence

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on a good range of Office fit out experience including Cat A and B and high-end fit outs
  • Demonstrable track record of successfully managing subcontractors and site teams in a busy construction environment.
  • Experience planning and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong understanding of construction processes, site delivery, and project management methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge and application of health and safety regulations and best practises.
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Professional and hands-on approach to site management, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving capabilities.

Working Conditions

This role involves working primarily on construction sites across Bristol and the South West England region. The Site Manager spends the majority of the working day outdoors and on site, often in a physically demanding environment. Full-time hours are expected, with occasional flexibility required to meet project deadlines or site demands. The position requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to all health and safety policies.
