We are looking for a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to work in a secondary school in Derby on a temporary basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and can confidently manage a classroom, maintain good behaviour and ensure pupils stay focused on their learning.

Vacancy Details

As a Cover Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects during teachers' absences.

• Ensuring pupils complete the work set by the absent teacher.

• Maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment.

• Managing behaviour in line with the school's policies.

• Supporting pupils with their learning where appropriate.

• Providing feedback to teaching staff on the lesson and any issues that arise.

• Following school procedures and safeguarding requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with secondary-aged pupils.

• Is confident managing classroom behaviour.

• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Can adapt to different subjects and year groups.

• Is organised, reliable and flexible.

• Can use their initiative and build positive relationships with pupils.

Previous experience in a school or education setting would be beneficial, although candidates with relevant transferable experience may also be considered.
