To help us recruit social workers who are committed to working in Middlesbrough we are currently offering a 10% supplement to social work salaries. This additional 10% will be reviewed at the end of March 2027.
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Social Worker within our Learning Disability team with Specialist and Lifelong Services.
We are looking for someone who is creative and able to work on their own initiative to enable people with a learning disability to achieve better outcomes. The team supports people with a learning disability form the age of 18 years and their parent/carers. The work is varied, demanding and rewarding, working alongside schools and colleges, care providers, education and families, and carers.
You will be working with people of different ages who may be living at home with parents, living independently with support or in supported living houses, or residential placements.
As a Social Worker you will work closely with colleagues within the Learning Disability team, partners from health, the voluntary and charitable sectors and with children’s services and education with young adults who are preparing for adulthood.
The work is varied and may include writing reports for CoP DoL applications and safeguarding.
